There are many benefits to having pets in the classroom, but don’t take our word for it. See what some of the teachers who have received our grant have to say…

I cannot begin to tell you how grateful I am for the grant to establish an aquarium in my kindergarten classroom.  Young ones love class pets, and this grant will provide fish for them.  It will also provide an opportunity for the children to learn pet care first hand.  Thank you for your generosity.

Thank you so very much for this funding.  The children and I are very grateful.  So many of the kids do not have pets at home and this money opened up so many new opportunities for them.

Thank you very much for funding my application to Pets in the Classroom.  I was awarded a grant to purchase and set up a 10 gallon aquarium in my kindergarten classroom.  There have been several positive benefits already.  One of the classroom jobs is turning on the light and feeding the fish in the morning.  Another benefit is that it has a calming effect for students with emotional and/or behavioral issues..Thank you!

Before receiving the wonderful gift of our bearded dragon, Rip van Winkle, I wasn’t sure a grant program existed for classroom pets. I am so glad I investigated! Caring for Rip has made a tremendous impact on my fourth graders. I have seen a marked increase in their level of responsibility and cooperation since he arrived. Also, students’ level of academic engagement has increased. Students are eager to learn about reptiles and make connections between content we are studying. Additionally, students have been affirmed for their gratitude by being recognized on the website. So fun! Thank you!
