Has your classroom pet settled into its school home? We’d love to see it!
The Pets in the Classroom grant program invites pre-kindergarten through 9th grade teachers with classroom pets to enter the Pets in the Classroom Habitat Contest. Now through November 18th, teachers can submit pictures of their classroom pet’s habitat. From November 21st to December 9th, all entries will be featured on the Pets in the Classroom website, and people are invited to vote for their favorite habitat. The teacher whose entry receives the most votes when the contest ends will be selected as one of the contest winners and one additional teacher will also be selected as a winner based on random selection. Each winner will receive a $100 Visa Gift Card.
All eligible submissions must be received electronically by 11:59 pm EST, Friday, November 18, 2022. From Monday, November 21st, 12:00 am EST to Friday, December 9, 11:59 pm EST, people will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite habitat on the Pets in the Classroom website. Contest winners will be announced by Wednesday, December 14.
Tips for a winning photo of your habitat:
Get Creative: The more creative, personal, and interactive the habitat, the better the chances of getting votes!- Caption it well: Were your students involved in creating the habitat? Was there an educational purpose to the design? What does your pet think of it? Be sure to tell us about the habitat and your pet!
- Share, share, share: Who better to capture votes from than your family, friends, and school associates! Share the link to your photo on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, in an email, on your blog, in a newsletter, etc! And use #HabitatContest!
Contest rules:
- DO NOT SUBMIT PHOTOS WITH STUDENTS’ FACES VISIBLE. WE CANNOT POST ANY PHOTOS WITH IDENTIFIABLE IMAGES OF CHILDREN.
- Each person who wishes to participate in the program shall submit a photo of their classroom habitat (hereinafter “Submitter” ) relating to the use of a Pets in the Classroom grant. Entries of habitats of pets not supported by the program will not be eligible.
- Each photo may be posted on the Pet Care Trust Website and may be viewed by Pet Care Trust, its employees, volunteers and outside third parties.
- In consideration therefore each Submitter acknowledges, agrees and hereby grants the Pet Care Trust, its employees, and volunteers the non-exclusive right to use, copy and display such photos at our discretion unless instructed by the Submitter to remove the photo(s) from the website.
- Upon conclusion of the submission period, the Pet Care Trust will award two $100 gift cards to the two submissions selected at the sole discretion of the Trust.
- Pet Care Trust reserves the right to cancel the contest or modify these rules at its discretion. Decisions of Pet Care Trust are final and binding.
